ITINERARY - DAY BY DAY
Day 1: Juliaca - Puno
Assistance on your arrival in Juliaca. On your way to Puno, visit the famous Chullpas of Sillustani, cylinder burial towers built of stone, (12m / 40ft tall) where the Aymaras buried their important leaders. Lake Umayo, located in front of the Chullpas, only adds beauty to the place.
Here you will have the opportunity to observe the wild guinea pigs, birds and other wildlife of the area. Arrival to selected hotel where you will have the time free to rest and get acclimated to the altitude.
**If you arrive by train the excursion to Sillustani will be on Day 4.
Day 2: Lake Titicaca: Floating Islands of the Uros and overnight at the Amantani Island
Early in the morning after-breakfast, we embark on an unforgettable motor canned excursion on the Titicaca Lake to visit the Floating Islands of the Uruses, the ancient inhabitants of the lake, acquaintances like the Aquatic Tribe, these Andean natives construct their own islands adding new totora's capes periodically, also they use this material to construct their houses and boats.
Right after sharing his traditions with the inhabitants of the island, continue your excursion to the Amantani Island , inhabited for natives of Quechuan language, those who still live according to his ancient traditions and whose principal occupation consists in do ceramics and the confection of fine textiles.
The positive energy of this island is so powerful that is known like the Island of Love Light Refreshments. Sleep at the house of an inhabitant of the island in order that you enjoy the hospitality of Amantani's typical home..
Day 3: Lake Titicaca: Amantani Island and Taquile Island - Puno
After breakfast, time at leisure to stroll by the quaint streets of this colorful island. Late morning, take motor-boat towards the Taquile Island, inhabited by quechua-speaking natives who have developed an efficient and original social systems and a fine hand weaving technique through generations. After lunch at a local posada of Taquile, take a walk through the several hills and archaeological sites of this 6km long island. Afternoon, return to Puno for overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Puno - Juliaca
In the morning, transfer to Juliaca airport to take your departure flight. End of services.
