ITINERARY - DAY BY DAY

Day 1: Arrival LIMA

Assistance on your arrival in Lima and transfer to your selected hotel. Free time to rest and prepare for starting your trip around this magical country. Overnight.

Day 2: LIMA / CUSCO (B)

Early in the morning, transfer to airport to take a flight to Cusco. Assistance on arrival in Cusco and transfer to your selected hotel. Free time to take a short rest to be acclimatized to the altitude. In the afternoon, city tour of Cusco visiting the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Korikancha. Then, drive out of the city to visit the inka sites of Kenko, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman, built strategically on a hill overlooking Cusco; famous for its enormous carved stones joined with astounding precision to form the outer walls. Some of these stones stand over 9m / 30ft tall and weight over 350 tons.

Day 3: CUSCO - Machu Picchu (B) (L)

Early in the morning, transfer to Cusco train station for a three hours train ride to the famous inka City of Machu Picchu, one of the most renowned examples of inka architecture, known as "The Lost City of the inkas". Get down the train in Aguas Calientes station for a 30-minutes drive climbing a 6km of winding road to reach the marvelous city. Upon arrival, guided tour of the City, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial(the greatest Intiwatana), the Royal Quarters, the Temple of Three Windows and various burial grounds. Time free to stroll by the archaeological site. Lunch at a restaurant at Aguas Calientes town. Late afternoon return to Cusco. Overnight at selected hotel in Cusco.

Day 4: CUSCO / LIMA - City Tour (B)

Early in the morning, transfer to airport to take a flight to Lima. Assistance on arrival in Cusco and transfer to your selected hotel. Free for lunch. In the afternoon, city tour of the "City of Kings" including the Historical Center of Lima, visiting Main Square, Government Palace, City Hall, the Cathedral (where the tomb of Francisco Pizarro, conqueror of Peru, is located), Cathedral´s Museum, Temple of Santo Domingo (tombs of Santa Rosa and San Martin), Temple of San Pedro, Lima Colonial Balconies, Torre Tagle Palace, Paseo de Aguas and Convent de los Descalzos. Then, drive through the residential district of San Isidro, visiting El Olivar Park; Miraflores, visiting the Kennedy Park, Love Park and Larcomar Mall. Return to your selected hotel for overnight.

Day 5: LIMA / ICA / NAZCA - Nazca Lines (B)

Very early in the morning pick up from your hotel and transfer to Lima bus station for a four-hour drive through the Panamericana highway to Ica. Arrival to Dunas Hotel and immediate transfer to the local airport to board a propeller plane to fly over the enigmatic Nazca lines.Enormous line drawings of animals, birds and geometrical figures that still remain etched in the desert, which can only be appreciated from the air. After flying over the Nazca geoglyphs, city tour of Ica including modern and traditional districts, the Sanctuary of Luren, the Regional Museum of Archeology to know a little more about the Nazca and Paracas pre-inka cultures and the legendary town of wizards and witches called Cachiche. Then drive towards the Huacachina Lagoon, to explore its natural beauty and to taste some of the most delicious wines and piscos of this region. Overnigth.

Day 6: ICA / PISCO - Islands Ballestas / LIMA (B)

Very early in the morning pick up from your hotel and transfer to city Pisco. A motor boat excursion to Ballestas Islands, in the Paracas National Reserve, where we will observe sea lions, boobies, pelicans, penguins and marine birds, among many other species converge looking for shelter. From the boat we will observe the famous Candelabrum, an enigmatic figure that many people believed is related to the Nazca lines, others link the drawing to the Southern Cross constellation and many other believe it is a stylized drawing of a cactus, that was used by high inka and pre-inka priests as hallucinogen. After taking pictures of the sea lions, seals and seabirds rookeries we will return to Pisco. Very early in the morning pick up from your hotel and transfer to Lima. Transfer to bus station to hotel Lima. Overnight.

Day 7: LIMA (B)

Early in the morning, transfer to airport to take a flight. (Suggest: Archeological and anthropological Museum, Oro the Museum, Larco Herrera Museum) End of services.
